Urgent appointments
To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow please call the practice on 01562 547300 (Monday to Friday) during opening times. Appointments are open from 8am.
You can also:
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist from 9am
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.
Routine appointments
You can request a routine appointment in advance during opening times.
The ‘Get help for any health problem’ form is for non-urgent requests only. We will respond to requests within 4 working days.
You can also:
- phone us on 01562 547300
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App) or Patient Access to book an appointment, screening test or vaccination
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist after 9am
When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.
We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you. There will be a choice of doctors according to who is on duty that day. If you prefer to be seen by a particular doctor, you may be asked to call back on another day.
There are a limited number of pre-booked appointments that can be booked up to 4 weeks in advance. If you feel you need a pre-bookable appointment, please ask.
Emergency Duty Doctor
Once all appointments for the day have been allocated we have an ‘Emergency Duty Doctor’ to accommodate those who need urgent treatment.
These emergency appointments can either be a telephone call or face to face, and there is no set time that you will be seen/contacted.
If you are attending the surgery for this it is a sit and wait service.
The clinic times for theses appointments are 8:30am to 11:30am and 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
Appointments with a nurse
You can pre-book appointments with the practice nurse more than 48 hours in advance.
To book an appointment with a nurse you can:
- phone us on 01562 547300
- visit the surgery and speak with a receptionist
You can consult the nurse for a number of different problems, including immunisations, travel vaccinations, dressings and wound care, cervical smears, contraception, blood pressure checks, weight monitoring.
Your appointment
However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:
- by phone
- face to face at the surgery
- on a video call
- by text or email
Appointments by phone, video call or by text or email can be more flexible and often means you get help sooner.
Cancelling or changing an appointment
To cancel your appointment:
- use your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
- using the GP online system: Patient Access
- phone us on 01562 547300 during opening times
- reply CANCEL to your appointment reminder text message
If you need help when we are closed
If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.
NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.
Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.
If you need help with your appointment
Please tell us:
- if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
- if you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
- if you need an interpreter
- if you have any other access or communication needs
Home visits
If you are housebound and need an appointment, we will do a home visit. We will phone you first to understand what you need.
A home visit must be requested by 11am.
Extended Access
In the Stourbridge, Wollescote & Lye area practices are working in partnership to provide additional GP appointments. If you need access to an evening or weekend non-urgent appointment, please call the practice on 01562 547300 and speak to the receptionist at your registered practice during normal opening hours.
Your appointment may be with another practice in the Stourbridge, Wollescote and Lye area and may not be at your registered practice.
